This is Aristotle! He is the father of biology and polymath who was known for classifying organisms and nature. He classified different organisms and recorded his method of doing so.
He classified organsisms by their movements.
He named the things that can move as animals and the things that don't and are green as plants.
Later on, He noticed the differences of the characteristics of different plants and used it to divide them into 3 groups, Herbs, shrubs and trees.

Aristotle then differentiated animals by where they can be located. Either land, sea, or air.

After that, he classified the animals by their classification of blood. Some has red blood cells (Enamia) and some lacks (Anamia). Some animals have blood and some don't have any at all.
Live-Bearing

Aristotle soon then classified the organisms into vertebraate (with back bone) or invertebrate (without backbone). He also classified them as live-bearing or egg-baring. Live-bearing are mammals and humans while egg-bairng on the other hand are birds and fish.
