- I think we just barely made it to class on time! As I was saying, my phone has the newest games and technologies on it. It's so cool and it cost my parents a fortune. It's also deep blue, it's such a nice color!
- Oh, that's a bit complicated. I'm letting my cousin keep it for a few days because he really liked it.
- You have to show it to us tomorrow!
- Your phone sounds so high-tech but why didn't you bring it to school today? That way we wouldn't have almost missed class.
- Two weeks later
- I'm really sorry but my parent's never actually bought me a phone. You guys were talking about your phones the other day and I felt embarrassed that I didn't have one.
- You remembered...
- When are you going to show us your phone? You've been talking about it nonstop for the last two weeks.
- I'm sorry but you're a terrible liar, You said that your phone had virtual reality capabilities, which is incredibly far-fetched, even for you!
- Yeah, I really want to see it!
- Thank you for forgiving me. You're the best friends I could ask for. My lie has grown so big that I couldn't even sleep.
- So you guys aren't mad?
- Ironically, two months later, Eric's mom bought him his first iPhone. Although lying had been pointless , he learned a valuable lesson: true friends are always there for you.
- Of course not! All of us have told lies at some point, but I wish that you didn't. We're your friends, you can trust us!
- We wouldn't have judged you! Remember, I don't have a phone too.
