  • An example of Hamlet's hubris was his excessive pride about his father. During his first soliloquy he compares his father to a sun god and his uncle to a goat. This is a massive hyperbole and shows his excessive pride towards his father.
  • These lines show Hamlet's hamartia that his philosophical overthinking prevents him from killing Claudius in a timely manner.

  • Hamlet's Peripeteia is when he kills Polonius this first murder leads him to commit more murders and ultimately leads him down the path to his own death.

  • Hamlet's nemesis was his indecisiveness even when he had his opportunity to kill Claudius he came up with an excuse to not do it. This indecisiveness lead him down the path of not killing Claudius until it was too late to save his own life.

  • Hamlet's Anagnorisis is during his final soliloquy where he finally realizes his innaction and sets out to just go and kill Claudius, but at this point it is to late to many people have died and his fate is sealed.

  • A example of catharsis in Hamlet is during his death scene when Horatio would rather die than be without Hamlet. Hamlet then consoles him and this makes the audience feel pity for Hamlet and Horatio.
