- Mr White and Herbert White are playing chess in the living room. When they hear a knock on the door.
- Welcome Sergeant-Major Morris! Please come in.
- She has no clue about the power in my hand.
- Mrs. White rushes to the door and welcomes Sergeant-Major Morris inside. Noticing a monkey paw in his hand.
- Sergeant-Major explains to the white family the powers of the monkey's paw barely warning them of the cautions.
- I wish I could be rich, then I would be happy.
- What do you have with you Sergeant?
- It's a monkey's paw. It has the ability to grand its possessor three wishes, sometimes at a price.

- As Herbert's greed increased, he left his family to find a way to get more wishes.
