The VR Tour of the Rock Cycle

- [Voiceover of Ms. Kennedy, the teacher] Welcome to our interactive VR tour, class. Today you will be learning about the rock cycle using the tour we have prepared. It all starts with a volcano and the magma below our feet.
- With time, the volcano eventually erupted and released magma on the surface.
- The magma released into the surface starts cooling down, as you can see in the picture in your VR lenses. This is what forms igneous rocks. [Voiceover of Timothy, a boy in the class]Are there other types of rocks, Ms. Kennedy? Like with water?
- [Back to Ms. Kennedy's voiceover]Why, yes, my dear Timothy, there are other types of rocks. We've already talked about igneous rocks, and now we'll talk about the next type of rock: sedimentary rock.
- The creation of the sedimentary rock starts with the creation of sediments. When the igneous rocks are exposed to weathering and erosion they break down into little pieces called sediments.
- [Voiceover from Jason, another kid from the class]Ms. Kennedy, do the sediments become a rock? How do they become a rock?[Ms. Kennedy again]Good question, Jason. Yes, the sediments do convert into a rock, as you see in your image. Now, I will explain the process in which they become sedimentary rocks.
