- Its because it was impossible. The only reason I made it out was because of the Life insurance money of both my parents, and my older sister. When they got… I was able to “payoff” the house, but I’m not probably out of the woods yet knowing those men in suits. Knowing them I probably have to pay interest, and I'm just in a grace period.
- They tried to stop paying their tax so that way they could pay with as much of their net pay as they could instead of only being able to pay with their gross pay (because they remembered that gross pay is not actually how much they take home).
- This helped for a little, until the government threatened to repossess their assets.
- It seemed impossible to get out of this pit of debt and despair, the family didn't know what they could do. And they couldn't declare bankruptcy because when they begged the head of the company to let them go he showed them the document they didn't read so thoroughly. This document said they were unable to claim bankruptcy, and they signed their name of agreement, illegal or not they agreed to it. So how?How did this family turn from this pile of despair with what would be listed as awful capacity, character and capital to being the founders of an amazing town? It just seems so impossible with the amount of liabilities they had.
