- This place is nice but thewater is bad.
- Lewis and Clark are walking through Kansas and talking about good things from it. The only thing they do not like is the water.

- This is Pike talking about it's dryness. He thinks that it is unlivable.

- Jackson's speech, this was a negative move on Indians. The things he said about them made people think that they were true savages.
