- Tom snuck out of his house at midnight with Huck to go into the graveyard, they wanted to cure the warts using a dead cat and begin the funeral. They saw and heard three people, so they hide into the bushes. Dr. Robison, Injun Joe, and Muff Potter were the three suspects, they argue about them paying to them, so Injun Joe knocked out Muffer Potter and grabbed his knife, and stabbed the doctor. He secretly placed the knife on Potter's hand so that he thought that he killed Robison. The boys ran home.
