- As kids start transitioning into young adults, they begin to develop more advanced reasoning skills and use a more logical thought process!
- They also begin to think abstractly and imagine things not seen or perceived at that very moment! They can think about love, spirituality, and participate in more advanced mathematics!
- Adolescents start to strive to break away and gain independence from their parents. They gain interest in social groups and lose interest in family activities.
- 18-21 years break away from peers to achieve adult status,
- As the adolescents turn15-17 years old, they start looking for the "ideal" partner in life and have very intense and short relationships.
- The emotional and social development is slower than the others. They may misinterpret what others say, or they may be treated older than they are in regards to their maturity.
- Adolescents begin to develop positive or negative self image and confidence, while comparing themselves to others. This can affect social performance.
