Types of Collective Bargaining
Let me explain
Oh, I see
Bargaining Councils are established when an employers’ association and a union or a number ofunions in a particular industry or sector agree that they wish tonegotiate at a centralised level.
Types of Collective Bargaining
It's clear now
The purpose of bargaining is to reach an agreement. This is normally achieved through compromise or concessions made by both parties.
Negotiation Approach
Now, Let's decide on the approach to take on negotiations
Centralised (broad) bargaining occurs when employers in a sector get together and bargain with one or more unions representing the employees of those employers. Centralised collective bargaining can also occur at the level of a group of companies or at the national or regional level of a company.
Decentralised (narrow) bargaining –is where a union/s acting together may decide to bargain only on behalf of certain employers at a particular organisation.
The win-win (collaborative) approach sees conflict resolution as an opportunity to come to a mutually beneficial result. It includes identifying your opponent's underlying concerns and finding an alternative which meets each party's concerns. The win-lose (distributive) approach is based on the premise that one person can win only at the expense of the other.
