- A group of 36 girls and 36 boys both watch adults hit doll aggressively or behave nicely
- The children mirror their behaviour and react by aggressively hitting the bobo doll or shooting virtually no aggression if they are in the non-aggressive group. They are more likely to imitate behaviour if the role model was the same gender

- The next being the role model was punished for aggressive behaviourand the third being no consequences
- strengths: reliable, good control of IV's, establishes cause and effect
- The children inmate the behaviour, usually via the same gender. Children in model rewarded condition were most likely top imitate aggressive acts and children in model punished group were least likely. These findings suggest vicarious reinforcement.
