- he tricks the cyclopes and tells him his name is "nohbdy" so why he cried out in pain cursing his name after Odysseus stabs him in the eye to escape no one would help Polyphemus for he was saying " nohbdy, nohbdy's tricked me, nohbdy has ruined me." ( Homer, 317)
