- Good morningI am judge Judy. Please present who you are and your case.
- I am Matthew Fraser and today I bring the Bethel school district to court because they violated my rights as a citizen
- The school had violated the first amendment,after I was given my speech I was given a two day suspension and was not allowed to speak in my graduation ceremony
- In the Tinker vs. Des Moines case,my speech should have been allowed as long as it had no caused a disruption of learning
- Yes Mr.Fraser you are correct although the speech that you gave was in violation of our student conduct code,which clearly prohibits disrupted behavior and the used of obscene language or gestures
- In a unanimous 7-2 decision, we have decided that the first admendment has not been violated
- Yes!
- In Frasers argument, he used the Tinker vs Des Moines fraser stated that student speech was protected unless it disrupted learning, and so when Fraser gave his speech upon 600 student,it had caused a disruption when students listened to his speech.
