- Nelson Mandela was born on 18th ,july, 1918. His childhood name was Rolihlahla. He is a Mvezo village's chief's son and his father was not only a chief but also an important man of the Thembu. His mother was his father's third wife and he is a first child of his parents.
- Roli's father was disagree with white people's law so they fired him . Roli was no longer chief's son.
- His mother moved to Qunu village with her family. They lived in three small house. One house for cooking another one for keeping foods and the last for sleeping.
- They were so poor but he was happy. He look after family's animals. He also happy to play with other children in the village. His father came by sometimes and Roli loved to listen his stories about Thembu people.
- When he was seven, his mother decided to send to school.In that time not every children can go to school. but he needed school uniform . His father gave him his trousers but it's not really suit him. Roli was a clever boy so he work hard to get clothes.
- when he study in school, teacher gave every students european name. Roli's name turn to Nelson. At first, he doesn't like it but he was happy at school.
