- in itang, refugee camp, Ethiopia, 1991. salva was now 17 yo, he had been in the camp for 6 years now, and for the first time salva started hearing rumors of people saying that they would close the camp! until one day, big groups of soldiers started arriving, giving them orders to leave the camp, while people denied on leaving, soldiers started to chase them with their guns to the river leading the other side of kenya.

- ethiopia-sudan-kenya, 1991-92. soldiers were forcing people into the river, which gues what? was full of crocadiles! and the river was uneasy, pulling people deep into the water. salva was held down from a boy that hung on to him chocking salva underwater, then he didn't feel the strainon his neck anymore and swam upward for a gasp of air, when he looked back he saw the boy floating with blood all over. all the shooting, the crocadiles, the creams. salva was undersater for a long time, making it feel like hours until at one momment he touched the mud and slowly but safely crossed over.
- I NEED TO SURVIVE
- Ifo-refugee camp, kenya, 1992-96. Salva was now 22 years old, for the past 5 years he had been in regugee camps after that dreadful life event he had walke all the way to this camp, and had been here all this time. Salva had met someone named michale who showed him how to speak english and he even teached him to play a different sport! helping him to be ready for when his plane arrives to get to the U.S, for better life opportunitties.
