- Some causes of the war are, the British helped the Native Americans by giving them supplies such as guns to fight against the Americans as the British were mad at the Americans. Another reason was the Chesapeake attack. The British stormed one of the american ships and took 4 sailors and killed many others.
- Sea Battles
- As the settlers settled in Ohio and pushed the Native Americans off there land. The Native Americans Did not like that and Two Shawnee Indians, The chief and his brother known as prophet tried fighting back by uniting other tribes along the Mississippi to fight back. The militia led by Governor Harrison fraught and won against the Shawnee.

- The war hawks were happy when the war started and thought about taking over Canada but after 3 years of trying the British still drove them out. In August of 1814 the British sent an army to invade Washington D.C. and burned down many public buildings along with the capital and the white house. Not long after in September the British went to Baltimore and bombed fort McHenry

- In 1813 a U.S. navel force who was lead by Oliver Perry captured 6 British ships on Lake Erie, and enabled the Americans into Canada where he defeated the British in a major battle. Though in December the British drove the Americans back to the U.S. In August of 1812 the american and British fought but in the end the Americans won with little casualties on there side, but the British has]d many casualties with being that many were killed and 257 were captured
- The battle of New Orleans was one of America's greatest success for the war of 1812. 7,500 British troupes stormed New Orleans but was met with Andrew Jackson and 7,000 militia men. The British lost with many of there men killed and in result America and Britain signed a treaty and the war soon faded after that.
- Both sides claimed victory, The treaty finally settled and the two countries went back to normal. The problems of ship seizures and impressment faded away and both countries went to piece. Though there were many affects such as over the next 20 years the native Americans that helped fight were soon pushed out of there home land and pushed west into the Mississippi river.
