- King Charlemagne was an important part of the middle ages because of what he did for his empire. He successfully expanded and united Europe. He also spread Christianity throughout his empire and created schools to train priests. This was significant because after he dies, the whole empire fell and could not protect themselves
- Feudalism offered land in exchange of protection . Lords who owned a lot of land usually gave knights some of their land, but the knights had to be loyal and protect the lords land in exchange. This was significant since it led to castles and more protection towards main building and home in case of invasions
- Lastly, Manorialism was when lords had people work for them in exchange of housing, farmland and protection. Peasants paid back the lord by working on their land and giving them a portion of the f produced food. Important to this era because it helped people economically and socially.
