Women fight for 19th Amendment
WHAT DO WE WANT? WOMENS RIGHT TO VOTE! WHEN DO WE WANT IT?NOW!
People Vocalize Their Opposition of Poll Taxes
Oh ABSOLUTELY! It definitely feels targeted towards less fortunate people and its constitutional..
Don't you think it's ridiculous we have to PAY to vote?? Definitely feels calculated and intentional....
The 15th Amendment grants all African-American men the right to vote and black men across the nation are ecstatic at this progressive moment in American history (though this right shortly taken from them a decade later once the South rejoined the Union). Why was it that even after they were already granted the right to vote, it was so easily taken from them?
The 26th Amendment's Effect on The U.S Today
I VOTED.
The 19th Amendment was introduced greatly because Women worked hard for it, worked in the factories while men were off at war, and because they diligently protested the streets for their right to vote. Why were women seen as inferior to men when they were just as capable and sometimes even more capable than men?
The 24th Amendment was introduced because many people were vocal about their opposition to poll taxes, as it is unconstitutional and lessens the likelihood of black people and those under financially unstable circumstances. Why were the poor seen as unimportant and expendable?
The 26th Amendment allowed for 18 year old's to vote because if they're old enough to fight and die for the protection of their country, they're old enough to vote for their country. And that sentiment is what allowed the 26th Amendment to be ratified, the SHORTEST ratification period in U.S history. Why did it take for 18 year old's to fight in war for people to open their eyes and see them as capable enough to vote?
