- My family moved here to New York from California because of all the new technologies and available jobs that New York has. Hopefully our life is better here than what we left in California.
- Dad: Moving here to New York has given me a job that would help me feed my family and help send my children to school. But, I feel unsafe working mine, especially because of all the dust I inhale. I am afraid I will become ill from it.
- Mom: Working at a sewing factory is a blessing and a curse. I am able to provide food in the table, but I am scared I might hurt my self from all those machines.
- Sister: while my parent are out to work the whole day, I am in charge of taking care of my little sister. I am glad that my parents have a job because everything is so much more affordable here in New York than it was back in California. Here we are considered as a middle class family .
- Me: Although my parents have a job here in New York, because of all the new resources and open job, the population is growing more and more every day. I am afraid my parents will lose their jobs because more people are being replaced with people who want less money per hour.
- My parents lost their jobs because other people offered to get paid less for their job. Machines also took over their jobs. Because of the industrial revolution, my parents were given a temporary job. But, it also raised the population making it harder for my parents to keep their job. It’s time for us to move again.
