This app is so useful. I can see all the past events and who went
Stephen just finished his classes for the day and is walking back to the parking deck to go home. He wonders if there’s something he can do with his spare time on campus instead of going home right away, but remembers that he doesn’t really know anyone, where to go, or even what to do. So he just continues to go home.

Hello, I'm Stephen, A comp sci major
While Stephen prepares himself a snack, he looks on his phone and scrolls on Instagram to see if he can find any profiles for NJIT clubs, or anyone that he has met in the past week. After 30 minutes of browsing, Stephen hasn’t really found much luck finding people he might know from classes. Many of the clubs he found weren’t actively posting any information on their page. With no success, Stephen pushes that quest aside, and begins to work on his assignments.

Maybe the creator of the Cybersecurity club can help me in my CS courses
Stephen is in his CS100 class and is just learning about a Discord channel for the students in the class. The only way for him to get into the Discord is with an invite by anyone who is already in the channel. He wants to ask the person sitting next to him but is already feeling some social anxiety. Stephen knows that he struggles with talking to people he doesn’t already know, and that if he doesn’t get over that soon, he will have more difficulty outside of college. So, Stephen decides to talk to his classmate. His name is Samuel, and doesn’t really understand much English. During the conversation, they both have trouble understanding what each other is trying to say, and Stephen just disregards that he ever said anything. That just made his social anxiety worse.
It is now common hour and Stephen made it his goal to go around campus and gain some familiarity with his surroundings. He went into GITC and found many flyers for clubs and organizations. He learned that the involvement fair happened last week, but he is a commuter, and wasn’t on campus. He really wishes that he was on campus more so he doesn’t miss out on any opportunities or events that are taking place. He does find a flier for a programming club and Stephen learns that they will have their first meeting a week from today.
Stephen attends the Programming Club’s first meeting during common hour. There are more people than Stephen anticipated and quickly finds himself overwhelmed and sits far from big groups of people. During the icebreakers, Stephen does his best to introduce himself but is extremely nervous. Many people at the meeting seem to already know each other. Toward the end of the meeting, Stephen does get the link to join the Discord channel, and plans to check it out when he gets home.
Stephen joins the Discord channel and immediately checks the list of members. He is amazed by how many people are part of the Programming Club. Unfortunately the list of members only have the Usernames that people set for themselves, so Stephen isn’t able to identify who is who. It would be easier for Stephen to reach out if he knew who the members were. When it comes to making friends and meeting new people at NJIT, he feels lost.
Stephen just finished his classes for the day and is walking back to the parking deck to go home. Having some time to spare, he sits in his car and reaches for his phone to look up the NJIT Campus App. He clicks on the app which asks Stephen for his user credentials. As soon as Stephen enters his username and password, he is prompted with news and events that are going to be happening in school later in the afternoon and also in the upcoming days.
While Stephen prepares himself a snack, he again looks at the NJIT Campus Pulse app to check for any upcoming events that might catch his interest. Within seconds, he receives notification about an upcoming cybersecurity event that is scheduled for the weekend at the GITC building. Without hesitation, Stephen clicks on the event to find out who else will be attending and discovers that a few of his classmates from the CS100 course are also registered to attend. The app provides Stephen with a detailed list of all the attending students, including their profile information, such as their major and current semester courses. Moreover, the app even notifies Stephen if he is taking any of the same classes with the other attending students.
During his CS100 class, Stephen spots a student whom he recognizes as an attendee of the upcoming cybersecurity event schedule for the weekend. Despite his struggles with conversing with unfamiliar people, Stephen feels at ease this time since he knows they share a common interest. Although Stephen notices that the other student struggles with speaking English, he doesn't let that become a barrier to communication. Instead, he engages in conversation with the student about the event, finding ways to understand each other. As they chat, Stephen discovers that his new acquaintance is a passionate programmer. Both then reach for their phones to befriend each other on the NJIT Campus Pulse app.
It’s currently a common hour, and Stephen has made it his mission to explore the NJIT campus and become more familiar with his surroundings. He decides to take a break in the GITC building and logs in to the NJIT Campus Pulse app to see what else it has to offer. As he navigates through the app he discovers that he can access information about past events, including the list of attendees. Stephen takes the opportunity to explore upcoming events and activates the notification feature to avoid missing out on any that pique his interest. Additionally, he learns that he can even create an event himself by following a few simple requirements.
On the day of the cybersecurity event, Stephen finds himself surrounded by more people than he had anticipated. However, he spots his new friend, Frank, whom he had met earlier in the week during his CS100 class, and the two decide to sit together. As is typical of such events, newcomers are invited to introduce themselves. Despite his nervousness, Stephen musters up the courage to introduce himself. The event proves to be very informative and interesting, enjoyed by all. Afterward, several people approach Stephen, recognizing him from past courses that they had taken together but never had the chance to meet. They discuss the event and exchange information about the NJIT campus app. By the time Stephen reaches home, he notices a few friend requests on the app and invitations to future events that he might be interested in attending.
After accepting his recent friend request, Stephen relaxes on his couch and is pleasantly surprised by the number of people who share his interest in programming. He enjoys browsing through his new acquaintances’ profiles and discovers that some of them share some of the same interests as he does such as in sports, music, anime and other activities outside of school. Stephen clicks on the event he recently attended to see who created it. He discovers that the creator of the cybersecurity event is a senior computer science major and that they attend the same high school. Stephen messages him as they engage in a conversation which helps Stephen a lot due his new acquaintance provides him with tips and advice for his studies and even if he desires to host an event in the future.
