- King Laius is warned by one of the oracles, that if he does have a child, then his child (Oedipus) will eventually kill him and marry and have kids with his wife.
- When Queen Jocasta had a son, he was taken from her and hung on a tree upside down. They put the rope through his feet and pinned him to the tree. Oedipus was going to be killed until a servant came along and saved Oedipus. He gave him to a Shepard. And the Shepard treated his wounds, and unable to raise Oedipus himself, he gave him to King Polybus and Queen Merope. They later adopted him.
- When Oedipus grows up, he meets an oracle and she told him has to kill his Father and Marry his mother, and have kids with her. Oedipus is shocked by this because he doesn't want to kill his father or marry his mother.
- After Oedipus had the awful talk with the oracle, he left Corinth and went to the city of Thebes. On his way there he saw a man and his horse riding on the path. This man is King Laius, and Oedipus does not know that this is his birth father. So in a matter of self-defense Oedipus kill his birth father and only half of the Prophecy is now fulfilled.
- As Oedipus continues his way towards Thebes, he meets a Phinx. As he talks to the Phinx, she asks a riddle. The riddle she asked was "What walks on four feet in the morning, two in the afternoon, and three at night?" Oedipus answered the riddle correctly. He said, " A man. as an infant they walk on all four, as an adult, he walks on two, and in the old age he needs a cane." So Oedipus was able to walk through uneaten.
- Since Oedipus had answered the Phinx correctly, he has renamed the King of Thebes. Because he had killed the existing King who was King Laius. After he was named King, he married Queen Jacosta fulfilling the rest of the Prophecy. And they had kids together.
