- Welcome to the Colosseum! The Colosseum was used for Gladiatorial shows and many other things for four centuries! It is also the first stadium, being built in 80 AD.
- The first apartments or "insula" were built in Ancient Rome. An insula was a type of apartment building or city block. Some were seven or eight stories tall!
- Roman schools were very strict. Romans went to school all seven days of the week although there were many religious holidays along with a summer holiday. Rich Romans had private tutors at home or went to schools which were for boys only. Poor Romans did not receive formal educations but many still learned to read and write
- Welcome to an Ancient Roman Eatery in Rome itself! Like us, Romans usually ate 3 meals a day although most were not big meals. But while most of us eat sitting up, Romans ate laying down! Not only that but Romans ate with their hands!

- With over a million people living in one place, Rome was only dirty, but also dangerous. They had similar crimes to the ones we have today such as murder and theft. 49% or rulers or emperors were murdered and or executed. Another 9% killed themselves to avoid being murdered and 9% died from unknown circumstances.
- In Rome, most girls wed at ages 15-20 and most men wed at ages 20-30. Marriage was regarded as a duty and means of preserving the family. Most alliances between family's had a goal to produce "legitimate" children.
