- There are two things that can happen to metamorphic rocks, first of they can either erode and break down back into sediments through the process of weathering and lithafacation or it can melt down into magma.
- If that metamorphic rock turns back into sediments the sediments can turn back into sedimentary rock but if the metamorphic rock starts melting, it can turn into magma. That magma overtime as it cools will harden and turn into igneus rock.
- Igneus rock is the outcome of the process of magma cooling. Igneus rocks can often have air bubbles or pockets that make it look like sponge. Igneus rocks can either break down into sediments and those sediments would compleate the entire rock cycle or it can through heat and pressure turn back into metamorphic rocks.
