"Diary of a Cow: A Moooo-ving Story"
MOOOOOOOO!
My ancestors are from the grass plains of Central Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Howdy! My name is Bessie!
In 5000 B.C., people in Central Asia began to use us for meat, milk, and pulling plows and wagons. They also used our hides for clothing.
I've been working hard all day!
During his second voyage in 1493, Christopher Columbus brought me to the New World.
This is a long voyage! Where are we going?
The New World! Up ahead!
At first, the Native Americans were not too thrilled to have me around. I kept eating and trampling their crops.
I JUST PLANTED THOSE CROPS!
The Native Americans learned to love me! They used me for meat, transportation, and labor. My hide was also used for clothing.
There's Farmer Brown! What will he use me for next?
I am very famous in the New World! I am also pretty valuable! I continue to be used for lots of things!
I sure could use a glass of milk!
If it weren't for me and my friends, America would be without a lot of great things! Can you imagine not having hamburgers or ice cream?
