- Hi my name is Trisha and today I am with Doctor Chu and we are going to show you how does food work through the digestive system.
- Hi!
- We will use a strawberry for our demo. We are first going to start off at the mouth which is where the process starts and where all the chewing and breaking down of food takes place.
- Before I forget the Digestive system also can work with the skeletal system because the teeth break down the food which starts the process
- We are now at the stomach which has acids that break the food down into Chyme . Wait, Did you know that in an average size of an adult´s stomach the stomach can fit 2 liters of fluid or solid.
- Now we are at the Small and Large intestine. The job of the small intestine is to chemically digest all of the things that aren´t broken down yet
- After the Chyme goes through the small intestine it goes to the large intestine. The job of the large intestine is to absorbs and maintain all the water the digestive system used.
- We are back at the classroom now after our long adventure through the digestive system. We had so much fun!

- Does that mean after the digestive system has happened we have to use the bathroom!
