- Before Matariki it was darkness.It was darkness because the sky father Ranginui and the earth mother Papatuanuku were so in love that they didn't want to seperate.
- Papatuanuku and Ranginui had seven children.
- The siblings were fed up their parents love and living in that situation so they wondered what they could do.
- He was so hurt from what happened and gauged his eyes out as a symbol of his love and pain.And that is what started the Matariki Constellation
- After Successfully separating their parents some of them were filled of joyed while other weren't .
- Tawhirimatea were one of those who weren't happy about what was going on.
