how a bill becomes a law

- First of all, the bill is introduced. This means the idea is introduced by a representative to either house.
- Senate
- House of Representatives
- Then, it's sent to committee. The committees then research, study, and call in specialists to determine if the bill will be sent to the whole house to vote on.
- Perfect! It’s all ready.
- Afterwards its discussed and debated for the entire house. If it starts in the house of representatives, 218/435 votes are needed to move on. If started in the Senate, 51/100 votes are needed.

- This bill has been vetoed
- It is then sent to the other house of congress. Basically, if it started in the Senate it would go to the House of Representatives, but if it started in the House it would go to Senate. They would vote again.
- The bill then goes to the Conference committee. What happens is that they make it match before going to the president.
- The bill goes to the president to sign it OR veto it. This is when the president tries to destroys the bill. The bill can go back to the Congress and the Congress can override with 2/3 majority.
