- Lyddie entered her cabin and found out that an escaped slave was taking refugees there. She could either turn him in and get $100 or help him in his journey. "This man was likely to be worth one hundred dollars... 'Id is tempted me if I were you.' She could feel herself go hot and red, 'But I won't' (page 42)
