- Act 1, Scene 1
- Horatio: What are you, that you walked out so late at night, looking like a dead king...
- Marcellus: It looks like you've offended it.
- Act 1, Scene 2
- Hamlet: I've got more grief inside me that you could ever see on the surface.
- Gertrude: My dear Hamlet, stop wearing these black clothes... you cant spend your whole life with your eyes to the ground...remembering your noble father...
- Act 1, Scene 3
- Polonius: That's nothing!... Ophelia, don't believe his love...
- Ophelia: He's offered me a lot of affection lately
- Bernardo, Marcellus, and Horatio see a ghost outside on their night watch at the castle gates. They believe it to be the ghost of the late king. They are aware sudden things happen in the night.
- Act 1, Scene 4
- Hamlet: It's not going to speak, so I'll follow it"
- Bernardo: Do Not sir!
- Hamlet is upset about his mothers quick remarriage to his uncle Claudius. Hamlet is still mourning fathers death, yet his mother is already married again which is hard for him to process. Claudius tells hamlet to not worry about his dad but to take him as a step dad.
- Act 1, Scene 5
- Hamlet: No one is around Here
- Ophelia and Polonius are speaking about Hamlet. Ophelia tells Polonius about how much she cares for Hamlet. But Polonius tells Ophelia that Hamlet is only using her, and doesn't want her to see Hamlet anymore.
- Act 1, Scene 5
- Hamlet: I shall Avenge you!
- Ghost: However you decide to pursue this act... do not let your soul contrive against your mother
- Hamlet goes with some of the guards to the night watch. He wants to see the ghost of late king Hamlet for himself. Hamlet speaks to the ghost and follows it away into the forest and towards the cliff over the sea.
- Hamlet follows the ghost to a clearing and the ghost tells Hamlet that it was Claudius that murdered late king Hamlet. Hamlet swears to get revenge for his deceased father. They Proceed to walk deeper in the forest.
- Ghost: Listen to me Hamlet!
- The ghost of the late king Hamlet tells Hamlet about his murdered. Proceeds to tell him to never leave Gertrude and to keep her safe. The botn conversate in what Hamlet should do now for King Hamlet.
