- We are here today to talk about our issues with the Mexican Government.!
- Our agenda today is to discuss settlers wanting independence from Mexico, the limits on immigration from the US and the right to give land titles to our residents.
- First we need to elect officers !

- Congrats Stephen F Austin for being the first convention president.

- Now we need to get to business !
- We need our own army!!Not all settlers are unhappy here.
- I don’t think this convention was successful. Ramone Musquiz has ruled the convention was illegal. We have to compromise. Musquiz most send our complaints to the Mexican Congress!

- We need to make our demands to the Mexican government and create our own state.

- I will send a letter home saying we need to go ahead and form a new state government .
- We read your letter. You are being arrested for treason !
- This convention was another unsuccessful attempt to negotiate with the Mexican government. Revolution is coming !
- We will try to calm the settlers by meeting some of their demands but Texas will not be an independent state. We will not accept treason!
