- Climax
- This is Melanie. She lives in a world where the outside has poisonous gas. She starts off in a booth with a teaching machine but she was daydreaming about flamingoes. She calls them Firebirds
- Falling Action
- Years and years ago we had real flamingoes here
- Melanie then went to the Natural Park with her parents to see the very last animals in their world. But she thought to herself that there might be flmaingoes somewhere, so she went off to the woods to find one.
- Resolution
- Goodbye
- Melanie found a flamingo in a lake. She sticks out her hand to touch it. But when she touched it, it fell over and floated in the water. She began to cry and realizing it was a fake flamingo
- Theme
- Man, this society is such an overpopulated and polluted place
- The caretaker was talking to Melanie's father and they were talking about flamingoes from the past. Melanie heard everything the caretaker said and she stopped crying.
- Melanie then picked up the bird and stood it up. Then she says her last goodbye and walks away. She was accepting the fact that flamingoes are extinct in her reality.
- The conflict of this story is Character vs. Society. Melanie's world is very overpopulated and polluted.
