- Choose a useful species that can be bred in captivity.
- I will raise sheep for their thick wool!
- Breed a large number of the chosen species.
- All the sheep are different! Some are smaller while others are larger. Some have more wool then others.
- Pick a trait that you wish to favor.
- I will favor sheep who have the thickest wool.
- Identify the individuals who exhibit the favoured trait most strongly.
- These sheep have the thickest fur compared to the other!
- Breed only these individuals to produce the next generation of individuals.
- A Few Years Later....
- After repeating steps 4 and 5 over many generations, the favored traits become more prevalent and pronounced.
- All of the sheep have thick wool!
