- When she was young, Jemison spends her time reading in the school library. She enjoys reading about all types of science, including astronomy.
- In high school, Jemison was intrested in becoming a biomedical engineer. She wanted to make and create gadgets that can help the human body.
- One day, I want to be a biomedical engineer.
- Mae Jemison graduated from high school at age 16, when she was applied to Stanford University. While in Stanford, Mae took part in a number of activities such as dance and theater, in addition to studying.

- After becoming a medical doctor, she returned to the US to achieve her dream of applying to NASA. 76 seconds into the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger's flight, all 7 crew members died.
- She finally flew into space on September 12, 1992, along with 6 other astronauts abroad the Space Shuttle Endeavor. During the flight, Jemison conducted expirements on her crewmates and herself.
- After her historic flight, she says that society can invite women and members of minority groups can contribute. She also has recieved a numerous amount of awards and universities even gave their highest degrees.
