What God KnowsWe pray for my grandfatherask God to spare him even thoughhe's a nonbeliever we ask that Jehovah lookinto his heart, seethe goodness there. But my grandfather says he doesn't need our prayers.I work hard he says. I trees people like I wantto be treatedGod sees this. God knows. At the end of the dayhe lights a cigarette, unlaceshis dusty brogans stretches his legs.God sees my goo, he says.Do all the preaching and praying you wantbut no need to do it for me.
Do all the preaching and praying you want but no need to do it for me
I picked this poem because I am Christian what I mean by this is that in this poem it really shows the Christian mindset you pray for people even though they don't necessarily have the same religion as you. Along with this God forgives people who don't necessarily believe in him or those who repent against him which is kind of what the children hope will happen to Daddy. Along with this it shows how much the children really care for Daddy because even though he is not a Jehovah's Witness they still think he deserves forgiveness and deserves to have God looking over him and watching him which shows this very powerful love from the children to their Daddy. Overall it is just a really heartfelt poem and made me feel happy because of the love between Gunnar and his grandchildren.
