- In this scene Abby and the girls are accusing Mary Warren of Witchcraft. This falls under lies and deciet the girls and Abby and the girls are lying about seeing Mary's
- In this scene Proctor realizes that he no longer wants to confess and only wants to save his name. This falls under redemption because Proctor realizes that he ruined his name once by admitting to teachery so he saves his name by refusing to confess to wichcraft.
- In this scene Tibuba confesses to witchcraft and then admits that the devil wanted Tituba to kill Reverend Parris. This shows revenge as Tibuba was a slave who was constantly abused by Parris so by saying that she wanted to kill Parris it installed fear into his mind.
- In this scene Mrs. Putnam wildly accused Nurse of witchcraft because she is jealous of Rebecca's luck when it comes to children. Rebecca has lots of children while Mrs. Putnam has had to bury all of it.
- In this scene Mr. Putnam is angry at Proctor for supposedly stealing his land as he claims it was once his grandfathers. Giles back Proctor up by saying Putnams grandfather often sold things that werent rightfully his. This exemplifies greed because Putnam tries his best to increase his power by stealing land from simple farmers.
- In this scene Abigail is seen trying to win John over by saying that she loves him. This is just because Abigail desperately wants John to live a life with her no matter what the cost.
