- A young girl named Sal lived on a farm in By-Banks with her parents peacfully. Then out of the blue Sals mother decides she needs to find herself an goes on a trip without warning
- When Sal's mother doesn't return home, Sal is in denial with herself. One half of her is saying its true and the other half is saying her mother loves her and her father too much to just leave them
- Sal and her father then move to Ohio where Sal becomes friends with a girl named Phoebe. Sal soon discovers that Phoebes situation is very similiar to hers because her mother also left them.
- Sals grandparents then take her on a trip to track her mother's footsteps. Sal then tell her grandparents the story of what happened to her in ohio
- when Sal got to her new schol she met her future best friend Phoebe. Phoebe was very proper and serious. She also had the most wild imagination out there.
- One day Phoebes mother left trying to find herself just like Sal's mother did. phoebe thought her neighbor Mrs. Cadaver did something to her mother so Sal and Phoebe did some research
