- An advantage of Geothermal Energy is that it harnesses the Earth's underground heat, which will always be there. In other words, Geothermal Energy plants run 24/7.
- Geothermal Energy also has a lot of potential for energy. The amount, worldwide, of energy that we consume is a lot, but Geothermal Energy holds much much more.
- You're not the only smart person here. There are disadvantages of Geothermal Energy! Like, Geothermal Energy plants are location-specific; you need to have them installed near hot springs, geysers, or along the Ring of Fire.
- Geothermal Energy can also trigger earthquakes because drilling deep underground to get Geothermal Energy can cause instability under the surface of the ground. It's not often that it happens, but it's still a dangerous possibility.
- Oh! I didn''t think of that...
- One of the most important disadvantges of Geothermal Energy, though, is that you can't say it's completely clean. Geothermal Energy plants produce carbon dioxide, but still on a small scale.
