- After I saw it was my aunt picking me up, I knew something was fishy. I didn't think too much of it because 5th grade me was happy to go home instead of taking my quiz.
- This early dismissal had confused me. Usually, if I was getting an early dismissal, I would know about it.

- My niece and nephew were already in the car. We all went to the same school so she had probably just dismissed them right before me. My other nephew, Royal, was just a baby at the time so he was probably already at my house. I loved babies so I couldn't wait to see him.
- Yeah, Why are we going home
- I'm not sure guys. Aren't you happy to get out of school early?
- When we arrived, I was confused. There were so many cars outside. My mom was even there and she doesn't get off work until 12am, so why was she home so early?

- When I went inside, there was a whole bunch of my family members in my house. They were all looking sad.

- My sister and Mom pulled my niece, my nephew and me aside to tell us something we never thought we would hear.
- That was the day I started to blame myself for not waking him up that morning.
