- The Proclamation of 1763 was to avoid issues with the natives. It was encountered by the British so colonists won't come and stay where lands were owned by the french. They were banned from settling west of the Appalachian mountains.
- Boston Tea Party 1773

- The Townshend Acts of 1767 was indirect taxes on imported goods such as glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. Was designed to raise revenue for the British Empire because they were taxing the North American colonies. The acts consisted of the suspending act, the revenue act, indemnity act, and the commissioners of customs act.

- The Boston Massacre of 1770 had started off in an argument between British and a few colonists outside of the Custom house in Boston. Five men happened to be killed during this incident. After the fight had happened, both British and colonists tried to use propaganda in the paper to make each other look bad.

- The Boston Tea Party of 1773 was in response to the tea act. The people of Boston dressed up as Native Americans, and dumped 18,000 lbs of tea into the Boston Harbor. The event took place because of "taxation, without representation".
- The Intolerable Acts of 1774 resulted in Boston Harbor being closed. The Quartering Act allowed British soldiers to be housed in vacant homes. Boston was under Martial Law at the time.
- the 2nd Continental Congress of 1775 was a meeting of colonial leaders to discuss either peace or war with Britain. George Washington was now named the Commander. Militiamen were now known as the "Continental Army".
