-    You must have patience, madam.
- Whither should I fly? I have done no harm.
- Be not found here; hence, with your little ones.
- Where is your  husband?
- Macduff's wife is questioning Ross why her husband has fled and left his family defenceless.
- A messenger enters the scene warning Lady Macduff of the planned murder.
- The murderers enter asking Lady Macduff about her husband's location.
