When Alexa gets her reward this is called a positive reinforcement because Alexa gets what she wants. Taking away the bad grade is the negative reinforcement because Alexa loses something she doesn’t want.

- You will stay after class and i will be taking your phone away.
- Alexa!! why have you been disrupting my class and not getting your work done?

- When Alexa is bad in school her teacher takes her phone away or makes her stay after class Staying after school is a positive punishment and her teacher taking away her phone is a negative punishment because Alexa loses something she does want.
