- (P) The self-governing is represented by all of the people in the comic being dressed as politicians. (E) The fish and whales in the water represent what the economy in New England is based around. There is also a stack of lumber and fur to show the people who fur animals and cut down trees for a living. (G) There are tall trees, snow, and mountains to show the type of geography in New England. (S) There is also many crosses (And a woman is wearing the Mary necklace) to show the lack of religious freedom there. Everyone believes in the same thing.
- (P) There is a voting station behind the two cowboys, showing how they often elected for their government. Keep in mind, you had to be a male and white to do anything freely. (E) Cash crops were used for trading, and therefore, were the center of their economy. (G) The clear skies and fertile soil showed the long summers, and long growing seasons. (S) Slaves were used to gain money for the whites, since they didn't want to do the work themselves. Their economy is based off the backs of Africans, who plucked the cash crops all day and night for the whites.
- (P) Just like the Southern colonies, they held an assembly where people could elect for the government annually. (E) The Middle Colony usually made a living off of trading fur and selling the staple crops they grew. Staple crops were also eaten by them. (G) The fields show that the land they resided on had fertile soil. There was also regular rainfall and long growing seasons. (S) There were many different types of people at the Middle Colony. This colony was the most diverse and tolerant of others. But the catch is that WIlliam Penn allowed people to bring slaves into the land.
