The fisherman start to catch a lot of big and juicy fish and are having a very good day and were about to head back to the village because they had all of their food for dinner because their little canoe couldn't hold anymore fish and was almost going to tip over so they had to start going back or else they might tip over and loose all of their big and juicy thukeri.

The fishermen saw a man at the bank of the river, The fishermen quickly covered their big, juicy thukeri so the man couldn't see their catch of the day. The reason that they covered the fish because they didn't want the man to see their fish because he would ask for some.

Could I please have some fish I haven't had any food all day
I am sorry we didn't catch many fish today and we have to feed our wives and children so we can't give you any.
The person asks if he can have some of the fishermen's fish because he hadn't eaten all day but even though they had a lot of big juicy fish that they could give him they said they had none because they wanted all of the fish for themselves and were greedy.

You lied I know you have plenty of fish in your canoe. Because you are so greedy you will never get to have those thukeri again.
As the men sailed away the person cautioned them about lying and because they were so greedy the person told them that they were never allowed to have the big, juicy thukeri again. The fishermen were confused so they just rowed away to their village and as they started to get all of the big, juicy thukeri out of the boat they realised that all of the big, juicy fish were full of bones and had no meat on them so they couldn't feed it to their families because they would choke on the fish.

We caught so many big, juicy thukeri but some tall guy with red eyes asked for some and we said no but he said I know you have some fish and you won't be able to enjoy those big fish again and somehow they are all boney now.
That stranger was really the great spirit called Ngarrindjeri.
The end of this story is the fact that the 2 fishermen were greedy and didn't share any of their fish with the person because of this the Ngarrindjeri told them that they will never get to have those fish again. Because of the 2 fisherman people who now catch a bony fish they are reminded of long ago when the Ngarrindjeri taught them a lesson.
