  • "The Monster Due On Maple Street" Theme: Don't Judge a Book By It's Cover
  • Evidence 1- " Maybe you better tell us. Nothing s working on this street. Nothing. No light, no power, no radio. Nothing exept one can-yours!
  • Evidence 2- " You sound real anxious to have that happen, Steve. I think we better keep our eye on you too!"
  • Evidence 3- " Its... It's the kid. It's Tommy. He's the one."
  • One major theme for the teleplay "Monster are Due on Maple Street" by Rod Serling is "Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover". One piece of evidence is " Maybe you better tell us. Nothings working on this street. Nothing. No light, no power, no radio. Nothing except one car-yours!" This quote supports my theme because the residents accused Les because his car turned on even though he had a disorder that they never knew about. To add, another piece of evidence is " You sound real anxious to have that happen, Steve. I think we better keep our eye on you too!" This quote supports my theme because they are accusing Steve for making a radio even though they have no idea what kind of radio it is or why he is making this radio. My last piece of evidence is, " It's ...it's the kid. It's Tommy. He's the one." This quote supports my theme because he is saying this right after he was accused and does not want people to look just at him, but at Tommy instead even though he has no evidence for this accusation. To summarize, all of these quotes support my theme because these people were accused for no reason and with my theme, Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover, I am trying to say don't say that someone did something wrong when you don't know who they really are.
