  • I am soo tired...I couldn't get a good nights sleep the last few days..
  • How will I get through this test tomorrow!?
  • no. I am exhausted. My brain can't function properly. What do I do?
  • Hey, are you ready for your test tomorrow?
  • You should join the fitness club!
  • I am doing so well, I wonder how this will help me for my test tomrorrow?
  • Kate is a student at school who goes home every day feeling unmotivated to do anything. Likes to watch the tv and play video games a lot so because of that she gets very minimum sleep, causing her to feel drained and exhausted at school.
  • I have had such a good REM sleep last night. All that physical activity really helped!
  • Kate's friend Jake decides to help her out by suggesting for her to do more physical activities and sports by joining the fitness club. Hoping that it would help her feel better.
  • I am finding this very easy! It's as if my brain has been re-born!
  • Kate decides to join this fitness club and by doing so, her body starts to use up its energy, ready for the sleep ahead.
  • No way!

  • After adding in sports to her daily routine, Kate went home to sleep a much longer sleep in REM causing her to feel refreshed and more awake the next day.
  • Because Kate has managed to sleep longer in REM, during that stage of sleep, her brain has been replenished for the day ahead which brings up her mood and helps her concentrate more on the tasks given.
  • In conclusion, because Kate has managed to add in more physical activities into her daily routine which by Shapiro et al (1981) has been proven that it improves sleep. Kate has managed to pass her test with true colours!
