- Women were not allowed to vote or take part in meeting like men were. They would have lots of meeting at the Agora. They would talk about anything that brought concern that they felt they needed to change. For example trading, fishing, or even military training.
- In Athens, the arts were important to them. Unfortunately, women were not able to participate so men had to play the women roles. Men might not have been happy with this and women were upset that they did not have rights.
- Boys were able to go to school while the girls stayed home and learned how to keep a good household. They learned cooking, cleaning , and other necessities. Boys learned poetry and philosophy as well as some possible military skills for the future.
