- When Maxwell was 4 years old his mother passed away.

- As Maxwell grew up, he was so big that his classmates were shocked.

- Maxwell remembered Freak from day care.
- Chapter 3
- Freak had to use crutches, because he was not growing on the outside.

- Freak's ornithopter got stuck in the tree.
- When Maxwell was in day care, his mother passed away and his father went to prison. He was taken care by his grandparents: Grim and Gram. Everyone in day care called him kicker, because he wouldn't let anyone touch him.
- Chapter 4
- Oh no my ornithopter is stuck.
- As Maxwell grew up, he was taller and bigger than most of his friends at school. People said that he looked exactly like his father Kenny Kane. Children bullied him in school, because he was not very smart, and didn't like talking in the crowd.
- Chapter 5
- When Max and Freak was in the park celebrating with people, they met Tony D and his gang. They were bullying Max and Freak, because Freak called Tony D a "Cretin" and made him mad.
- Tony D started chasing after Max and Freak.
- One day, the Fair Gwen and Kevin moved to the neighborhood. Maxwell remembered Kevin from day care, and they used to call him Freak. Kevin looked very small, and had to walk with crutches.
- Chapter 6
- I've never heard this before.
- Kevin flew an ornithopter in his garden. Maxwell was curious and went over to talk to him. The next day, Maxwell went to school and found out that Kevin go to the same school. They became friends soon.
- When Maxwell was in school, he found out that Freak was in the same school too.
- On 4th July while everyone celebrating in the park, Maxwell and Freak met Tony D. Tony D have been in Juvy court for a couple of times, and is the leader of a gang. Tony D called Freak and Maxwell "Giant and the dwarf". In return, Freak called Tony D "Cretin" which means someone with mental disorder.
- What's the big matter Weirdo?
- HAHA it's the Giant and the Dwarf!

- Tony D got angry, and chased after Maxwell and Freak with his gang. Max carried Freak on his shoulders and ran away to escape. Freak told Max to run into a millpond as he knew that the cops patrol around the area. Tony D and his gang was finally caught.
