- Mr. Hale finally arrives and Mr Parris is happy he has arrived so he can hopefully help his daughter This scene contributes to development of the story by how Mr Hale arriving makes everyone feel better about the situation because he will finally get to the bottom of what happened that night. This lets us know that Mr Hale is going to impact the conflict very much
