A Cartesian Plane or Coordinate Plane has four quadrants made up of 2 perpendicular lines.

The four quadrants are the I quadrant, II quadrant, III quadrant and IV quadrant.

The two perpendicular lines are called X-Axis and Y-Axis. The X-Axis is the horizontal line while Y-Axis is vertical.

The Cartesian Plane is used to plot points. A point may lie in a quadrant or X-Axis or Y-Axis. While writing the location of the point, the X is written first and then y. X and Y points are also called Abscissa and Ordinate respc

And these two lines intersect each other at Origin (0,0). For example, if a point lies at (3,2) that means the point is in I quadrant and lies on no. 3 on X-Axis and 2 on Y-Axis.
