After many battles in South Carolina, General Charles Cornwallis moved North to a town called Yorktown.

After Cornwallis had arrived in Yorktown, they were soon trapped in by General Washington's army, aided by French general Rochambeau and his army.

Another down!
Meanwhile, as General Washington cornered Cornwallis in Yorktown, the French Navy had come through James River and either destroyed or captured any British Navy. The French Navy also kept British ships from aiding Cornwallis in Yorktown.

The Continental army kept cannons firing on Yorktown's defense, and eventually attacked Yorktown, which led to the George Washington's success.

Cornwallis' Surrender
After George Washington and the continental army attacked, and Cornwallis had surrendered. Casualties for the American army ended up with less than 400, while the British had 300 killed, 600 wounded prisoners, and a total of 7,000 prisoners.
